Human Resources Generalist (FT)

We are searching for someone to assist the Human Resources Department with administration of programs, policies, and benefits. Generalist currently handles staff transfers of job, department, and status along with all related benefit changes. Reviews and authorizes all facility timecards, does 1095/1096 ACA reporting, reconciles benefit bills, and works closely with accounting department regarding payroll items. Assists with travelers and housing. Processes all employment terminations and monitors Cobra. Handles routine incoming questions regarding such things as policies, requests for time off, time cards, benefits, changes in employment, etc. Assists with survey process, wage administration, FMLA and leave, unemployment, and workers comp. This position is one of the first interaction an employee or applicant has with us, so a bright, cheery, welcoming attitude is an absolute must! Accuracy and attention to detail is also required as the data that the Human Resources Generalist has responsibility for will have a direct impact on our staff. Position may be required to work occasional off hours due to events. Generalist works very closely with the Director and independently handles multiple projects and ad hoc data requests. Position is the backup for the Human Resources Director and must be able to handle very difficult situations and difficult interpersonal relationships. Prior direct human resources experience, or a relevant degree, is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ability to maintain confidentiality is paramount! Exemplary customer service skills and positive interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Candidate must professionally work through difficult situations with staff. Will work with multiple departments and personalities. Candidate must have the ability to appropriately prioritize simultaneous requests and multiple tasks, and process them with accuracy under strict timelines. Successful candidate will have a solid knowledge of employment law, insurance, benefits, hospital districts, and be skilled with computers applications.
