Hospital District Board of Directors Has New Member

Weston County Health Services Board of Trustees announced Mike Ratigan will be filling the open position. The decision was made after the directors heard from six candidates who applied for the one open position at the February 21, 2019 WCHS board meeting.

“Very tough decision, very tough,” announced WCHS Board President Jimmy Long prior to making the motion to have Mike Ratigan fill the open position.

The candidate stated he had been a board member previously for eight years and a part of the community for more than 35 years. In doing so he became familiar with the challenges hospitals face.

Ratigan has had previous experience with working with boards, Chief Executive Officers and has even been a CEO himself. Most recently he retired as the manager of Northern Wyoming Mental Health Center eight years ago.

“The one thing I kinda miss being retired is the involvement in the community. I did enjoy that a great deal.” Ratigan stated. “I think it’s has become a more and more viable entity in the infrastructure of Newcastle and incredibly important in that way.”
