Our family medicine clinics providing comprehensive care for the entire family through all phases of life, from childhood to senior years. Our Providers

Lanny Reimer, MD is a native of Newcastle, WY, has practiced as a family physician in Newcastle and Upton, WY since 1979. He continues to see patients at both clinics. Dr. Reimer and his wife, Connie, have four children and eight grandchildren.

Education – University of Colorado 1976; University of California Family Medicine 1979; Fellowship Family Practice – UC Davis, Sacramento, CA.

Cary Bybee M.D. joined Weston County Medical Clinics in February 2022 and works in both clinics and the emergency room. He graduated medical school at the American University in St. Lucia. His residency was completed at Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is Board Certified in Family medicine. His experience has ranged with all ages, trauma, chronically ill and sports medicine. The Bybee family, including his wife, Dr. Sara Bybee (who is also a member of the clinic staff) and three young daughters have recently moved from Oregon to Weston County.

Michael Carpenter, PA-C has been a Physician Assistant in Weston County since 1988.

He started his healthcare career after high school in Rushville, NE by obtaining his Registered Nurse degree in Scottsbluff, NE. He worked four years in the heart attack unit before going to the Physician Assistant program at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He worked in Nebraska until moving to Newcastle in 1988. He has enjoyed taking care of patients in a rural setting. He finds taking care of children very enjoyable.

He is married with one son and four grandchildren. He enjoys wood working and outdoor activities.

Jan Mason-Manzer, PA-C began working in Newcastle in 1998. She is married and has three children and is expecting her first grandchild in September.

Sara Bybee M.D. and her husband Dr. Cary Bybee wanted to live in a rural area to raise their three young daughters so they relocated from Oregon early in 2022. She joined Weston County Medical Clinics in March of 2022. After graduating medical school from the American University in Antigua. Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport, Louisiana is where she completed her residency. She practices Family Medicine and is Board Certified.

Kristen Kohlbrand, DNP, FNP-C, ENP-C began her career at WCHS in July 2004 as a Certified Nursing Assistant in long term care. Growing up in Newcastle, she appreciated watching her Dad involved in community activities which inspired her to choose a career to help the community. She grew up watching the teams that helped prepare and work with disasters so she especially liked the Emergency Preparedness aspect. Kristen decided to continue with a medical career and received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree at Western Dakota Tech, working first in Weston County Manor and then in the hospital. At Gillette College she obtained her associates as a Registered Nurse and then continued to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. In 2022, Kristen obtained her Nurse Practitioners degree at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals and began working at the clinics for WCHS. She has three children – Ary, Tayshaun and Rowan was born at the beginning of 2023. Her husband Bo Johnson works at the coal mine and owns a comic shop in town.
